ジェームズ・オバーによるカルト・コミックをオーストラリア出身のＡ・プロヤスが監督、本作の撮影中の発砲事故で還らぬ人となった、ブルース・リーの子息ブランドンが主演した、ダークな近未来ファンタジー。“デビルズ・ナイト”と称するハロウィンの前夜、悪党たちの破壊の狂宴に婚約者ともども殺されたロックシンガー、エリックは、死者の魂を冥界へ導くというカラスに蘇らされ、白塗りのピエロ風メイクに黒装束という出で立ちで、復讐鬼として恋人の敵をとっていく……。ＣＧを使い未撮影分を補ったという技術の驚異もさることながら、厚いメイクの下からも、魔物となった男の哀しい熱情を充分に伝える、ブランドンの演技力はたいしたものだ。プロモーション・ビデオの演出家としても知られるプロヤスの、オルタナティヴ・ロックのこなし方もさすが。製作はＥ・Ｒ・プレスマン。彼の作った「ファントム・オブ・パラダイス」に雰囲気がとても似ている。続編は「ＴＨＥ ＣＲＯＷ／ザ・クロウ」。
